Last week, crew members forklifted bags of ice to different levels of the structure to maintain the Red Bull course on a 60 degree February day in Boston. Part of documenting the development of the course included figuring out exactly what was going to happen so that I could come away with some solid images from the two day event.
Before last Thursday I’d never shot an extreme sport before. The only practice I had coming into the weekend was the practice runs the day before.
The most challenging parts of the two-day event were navigating throughout the park, not being prepared for the wind on the first night, and getting to my spots on structure without missing more than one heat. It was definitely a step outside of my comfort zone but it was cool to experience.
